This evening the GWH Trust Choir went around the Hospital singing carols for the entertainment of the patients. With only just over an hour available to us we tried to get round as many wards as possible. This meant singing a couple of carols in each ward and then quickly dashing to the next one.

Knowing this was likely to be the case, I had set up the keyboard to run on batteries so there was minimal set up time in each ward. At one point as we half walked half ran down the corridors, someone likened the whole process to Speed Dating!

For me the highlight of the evening was performing ‘Sing Lullaby’ in the Maternity Unit surrounded by new born babies. One or two Midwives admitted to shedding a tear or two.
