Jules Addison is a freelance composer and music producer based just outside Bath.
As a composer, Jules’ style has often been described as Classical Crossover. This has developed from his classical training as an organist, although he is equally confident as a jazz pianist. Jules writes music for TV, radio and web advertising as well as choral and organ music for the Anglican Church.
Jules, the music producer, works from a fully equipped studio and can create stunning orchestrations and arrangements from simple piano arrangements. In many cases he will just be given the basic sketch of a tune by the client. Using his wide experience of musical genres, understanding of instrumentation and intuitive musical ear he work with artists to transform their ideas into reality.
Jules has produced and mastered a number of classical albums in partnership with 4 Part Music Location Recordings. In some cases this has also involved adding orchestration to an original choral recording and either preparing a score for a live orchestral recording or using instruments from his studio. This means, for example, that school choirs which were originally recorded with just a piano accompaniment can now have a full orchestral backing to their music without going into a studio or hiring an orchestra.
